Gordon Herbert, national coach of the German national basketball team, led the team to a historic World Cup title at the 2023 FIBA World Championship. With a breathtaking victory against the Americans in the semi-final and a triumphant success in the final, the undefeated German team secured the World Cup trophy. Herbert had already paved the way for this success the previous year by winning the bronze medal at the European Championships in his own country. At club level, Gordon Herbert brought the Frankfurt Skyliners the German championship title and European Cup victory as Head Coach.
